THQ: Modern New Logo

Another 2011 logo update has arrived!

Game publisher  THQ has decided to change-up their identity. The new logo has a modern look with a unique type treatment. I really like that they kept red in the “q” letterform but I am unsure about the color choice of the gray. They publish titles like UFC undisputed and a slew of WWE games. The logo might be a little to trendy for its core audience. Time will tell. We might have another logo uprising like we saw with the gap logo redesign. Either way, love it or hate it, they still make a quality product and their logo is unique enough to stand out.

New Logo

Original Logo

Below is an excerpt from the THQ:

“Our new logo epitomises the change, innovation and creative growth that are the cornerstones of the new THQ,” reckoned Farrell.

“By developing triple-A, innovative, original intellectual properties, attracting the top talent in the industry, and placing that talent first, THQ continues to redefine itself. This new logo seeks to capture that change and make it tangible.”

“THQ is proving its commitment to deliver the best experience to gamers,” he continued, “through internally developed original intellectual properties (Homefront and uDraw ), creative partnerships (Guillermo del Toro and Tomonobu Itagaki), and new talent acquisitions (Patrice Désilets), in order to solidify its position as a flagship publisher of extraordinary interactive entertainment.”

I wonder how the Gamer Nation feels about the new identity.
